Snow Day

We woke up to 2" of snow this morning. And the weatherman predicted non-stop snow until 2am. Total precipitation is estimated at 6-8"! That's more than I've seen in my lifetime.

Poor public school kids had to go to school anyway. Talk about cruel and unusual punishment. Max, Ainsley and Lillian were in it first thing. They bundled up in three layers of clothes, plus coats, hats, and mittens. The snow was perfect for snowballs and snowmen. They managed to build a 4' snowman! Then Ainsley thought it would be fun to tackle him. Down he went.

Each time the kids got too cold, they would head indoors. All the wet clothes were thrown in the dryer and the kids would warm themselves in front of the fire. In an hour or two, they would grab their clothes, bundle back up, and out they would go again.

Eli watched it snow all day from inside. But then he decided he wanted to try it out too. So, after putting on layer upon layer of clothes, we were out the door. I put Eli on an empty dog food bag to protect him from the wet snow. We all showed him how to touch it and eat it, but to no avail. He just looked at us like we had lost our minds.

When Mike got home from work, he helped us fix Mr. Snowman. Then he got into a snowball fight with Max and Ainsley. Lillian got in on the action too. Eli stayed inside and watched from the warmth. He's pretty smart!

Fun Fun Fun! There's nothing like playing in the snow! Looks like you cut off the video just in time. :)
