Wooddellisms

What is a wooddellism you ask. Wooddellisms started 10 years ago. Shortly after Mike and I got married. The very first one was “Ross Mose”. Therefore, a Wooddellism is when you switch the first sounds of a two word phrase. I have a tendency to say these when I am tired. Mike says them all the time. Don't know what his excuse is. Max has even said some. All without the intention of saying them. To illustrate how often this happens, I’ve written a short story using our most memorable wooddellisms.

Mike and I decided that we needed a vacation. So, we made plans to visit a
bread and beckfast out in the country. While there, we drove by the local
marmers farket and stopped to admire some beautiful ross mose. On the way
home, Max asked if we could swing by and pick up Huke and Lank. So we
did. And when we didn’t have any more milk for Hank, he threw a fissy
hit. He was screaming so loud that Mike’s coes turled. Soon after,
Mike said it was time to go home so that he could yow the mard.

These are just a few. There have been many, many more, but most of them we don’t remember. Although, before I end this post I have to tell you about one wooddellism Mike will never live down. It ended up not being clean. So, I’ll just have to tell you what he tried to say. You can figure out what actually came out of his mouth. Last week, while I was laying in bed reading my book, Mike came back to tell me something. As he was walking out of the room, he looked back and noticed our long haired cat, Molly, laying on the bed. And he tried to say, “Get that bucket of fur off of my side of the bed.” I laughed for ten minutes!!

Keep 'em coming; these are really funny. For 10 years, every time I see Moss Rose, I have to stop myself to remember which is the right way! When Max said Huke and Lank instead of Hank and Luke, I realized you're passing on this tradition to the next generation! Still, I loved it when Max invited me to his make-believe soccer game "seevnin" but not today seev-nin; tomorrow seevnin!" Good to know our grands are embracing our Texas Twang. :)

One thing I remember my grandfather saying was: mell of a hess. It was his favorite saying. My mom kept it going. I am still laughing!

Oh my gosh! Where have I been - I had to catch up on several posts. I am SO GLAD to know that I might just be normal and don't have to (shh...don't tell anyone) worry. I do try not to worry - but I mess up my words all of the time! Seriously - like so many days! So, imagine my relief when I read this!!! : )
