As soon as I realized God was leading us to this adoption journey, I began to pray. God loves to take us through things that we fear, events that we have deemed impossible. God wants us to rely on Him completely. What better way than to lead us where we are uncomfortable? I have wanted to adopt for years. Every time I looked into international adoption, I always looked right past eastern Europe. They have a slower program. They require both parents to travel. Twice. I wasn't ever going to leave my children. I wasn't going to travel outside of the country. Couldn't we just have the children flown to us? Maybe Mike could go on his own.
Then God led me to the one place I never thought I'd go. And all I could do was pray. My prayer? "God, You walk ahead of us, and we will follow."

Jamie- I am so very honored to be the first commenter on your beautiful blog and journey. I am so humbled that we could play a very small part in your journey, and I am forever grateful to God for allowing me to be involved. I could not read your post to my family without crying-or the "Our Story" page. When you told me you were adopting "some day" I had no idea it would be this soon. You are an amazing mama, and I cannot wait to follow you on your journey to rescue TWO of the least of these. God bless you, and know that we are praying for you every step of the way.
Jamie, how I love your heart for Jesus! I praise God for the wise and wonderful woman you have become! I love you more than words can express and wait expectantly to see what God is going to do next. Can't wait to get my arms around these babes! "Leaning on the everlasting arms!"
