Could Be Soon

Our case, at USCIS, has been assigned an officer! That means it won't be long until we have immigration approval (aka "Golden Ticket") and can submit our court dossier. Things are moving so quickly. I can't wait to be back in region and holding my little man. We can count down the days together until we are reunited with our family. My family and HIS family! Won't that be a wonderful day?!?

I am so jealous! And excited! Your adoption seems to be moving so quickly, and I can't wait to hear that you've got that life changing approval.

I need more explanation. So once you have your golden ticket, how long is typical before you can travel?
Exciting!!!

Well, come to find out, it's a little more complicated than I thought. First, we have to get the homestudy agency off the bad list. Then the papers can be filed for approval of international adoption. That's supposed to take 30 days. THEN we can file our court dossier. We're looking at July. I think.

Well, congratulations!! What do you mean, though, that the homestudy agency has to get off the bad list?

Long story short - post placement reports were completed, but never made it to the region, so the homestudy agency gets flagged "bad list".
They are in the process of providing the reports and proving they weren't at fault.

I am so happy for you! Plus, I am happy not to be flying solo on this one.
