He's Smitten

Today was a better day. I took my medicine. I've been very tired and I've had a headache. Betting my iron is low. But that's not what I came to tell you about.

But before I mention our visit with Zeb, I have to say I have become quite attached to our little cafe. They have a buffet and even though some of the selection is the same everyday, we could easily eat there everyday and not have the same thing twice. Today they had Borscht. I really wanted to try it, but the salmon was calling my name. Maybe tomorrow. Tonight I was feeling really tired, so after a quick trip to the large market, I came back to the apartment and Mike went back to our pizza place and got pizza and salad to go. It started raining just before he made it back and of course I had the backpack with the umbrella in it. Oh well, I figure all my family in Texas would be dancing in the rain. Praying you get some soon! One more thing, Mike said that the waitress' English got better between visits. Hmmmm. Maybe we tipped really well.

Today's visit with Zeb was great, as usual. He is so stinkin' cute! And yes, he seems smitten with his Daddy. Amazing what one day will do. I noticed something else today. I can't quite put my finger on it or even put it into words. The best I can come up with is: Zeb is more like a toddler than an orphan. Does that make sense? Almost like we are watching him come alive!

He had a great time dumping out the legos, putting them back in the bucket, then dumping them out again.

He tried to take his sock off and this is the reaction I got when I said, "Nyet."

He loves playing with Daddy's hat.

He played peek-a-boo barn on the ipad.

He really enjoys leaning back, upside down then coming back up and giggling.

One favorite game is to crawl as fast as he can to the areas behind the desk and laugh like crazy when Daddy stops him, picks him up and tickles him.

Daddy would swing him and he would laugh. When the swing stopped he would hold his feet up off the ground so that Daddy would do it again.

Then it was time to go. He hugged me, kissed Daddy and waved Paka.

Have a great weekend little man. We'll see you Monday.

I think those are some of the best pics so far! We were all loving those pictures of Mike and Zeb (so precious!!) and then started laughing at the pics of you stopping Zeb from taking his sock off. Jamie, your expressions are hilarious!

Amazing what can happen to a child in seven short visits! In his almost three years, he has never experienced this kind of one-on-one attention, love, affection, assistance with walking. My goodness, you have opened up a whole new world for him and he's loving it! I'm loving the experience of watching him open up. I'm so excited to see what following Eli around all day will do for him! They are going to have SO much fun. That is, if Lillian and Ainsley will put him down every once in a while - HA! Counting the days with you!!

Really glad to know that all is going so well. It's really cool to know that Zeb has now bonded with both of you. Get some rest this weekend. Eat some borscht for me. (since I wouldn't actually eat it myself :)
