With a Little Love

Great things can happen! And today, we saw great things!

But first let me tell you about our day. I was feeling well enough to venture out a little. So, we walked over to the market, looked around but didn't buy anything. The cafe right around the corner was closed. So we kept walking. Eventually, we found a fancy Italian restaurant that was open. We walked in, were seated, then we were handed two menus. All in Russian. Hmmmmmm. So, the waitress came back and asked us what we wanted. We just looked at her. She asked, "Pizza?" Ok, sounds good. So she flipped to the page on the menu with the pizza choices. Again. We just looked at her. She said, "Fish or meat?" Ummm. We'll take the meat. So she placed the order and the pizza was wonderful! Pepperoni, smoked canadian bacon, and thick sliced bacon. Very yummy!

Then after our visit with Zeb, we had our driver drop us off at the mall. We actually didn't make it to the mall-like portion of the mall. We just went to the large market inside the mall. Man do they ever have a great selection! Mike took these pictures of the fresh fish. And then he was told off in Russian by the security guard. Apparently, taking pictures of the fish counter is frowned upon.

We did buy some good stuff though.

Mike bought some pickles that are extremely fresh.

I found a Schwepps drink that is Cranberry Spice. It is different, but good.

I bought some blueberry kefir. And because I love the flavor of Pina Colada, I bought some pineapple and coconut flavored kefir as well.

We bought some cereal. I, of course, bought the healthy brand with almonds and dried fruit, while Mike opted for the Cocoa Puffs!

Oh, one last thing. Here are some pictures of the view off our balcony.

Tires are big business in this city. Based on the condition of the roads and the way people drive, I can see why. But this one particular tire shop has a dog.

See that dog behind the gate? He never shuts up. He barks all day and all night. I'm not sure he ever sleeps.

Enough already, I know! On to our visit with Zeb.

Zeb came right to me today. With a big smile on his face. He was quite happy to see me. And again, he was reserved with Mike. We saw something new today. Anytime Zeb would do something that he was proud of he would smile really big and give me a great big hug!

We played in the ball pit. Looked out the window. Played the xylophone. Played with the ring stacker. He drew some with some markers.

Here he is giving Daddy kisses:

But this one is sure to make you cry:

He took his first steps!!!

It was a fabulous day!

Wonderful! He's ready to start walking! With more groceries and exercise, his little legs will be strong enough to carry him wherever he wants to go. So happy you found good food in the market and glad the food server was able to help you place your order. Delighted that you felt good enough to venture outside the apartment and praying your nausea will dissipate never to return! Thank you for all the pictures! Love you so much...Mom

First steps and you were there. Praise the Lord. Laughing at the security and the fish pics. Maybe they thought you were from their competitors checking prices. Praying daily for you.

How exciting that he's taking steps! But I really loved the video of him and Mike kissing. That was absolutely precious!!
And you got lucky with that pizza! I've seen some pretty nasty Russian pizza in other blogs. :p
