A New Toy

For Christmas the kids received two games that we already had, so we returned them and purchased a new set of wooden blocks. I knew the kids would like them, but I had no idea just how much! We got the blocks while Max was in White Oak with his grandparents, cousins, aunt and uncle. Ainsley and I had lots of time to practice and get used to the new game. So, when Max got home, it took him some time to adjust. Max started building a tower and it was super-high, but when it fell he was crushed. I had to explain that all the fun in building blocks is watching them fall and starting over. Besides that, the blocks are a really fun game for Lillian. I have taught the kids that when we play blocks with Lillian, the goal is to see how many you can stack before she knocks them down! If you try to get her away, she tries harder to get to them. And when you squeal as she knocks them down, she squeals right back. And laughs and laughs!! And now the blocks have turned into everyone's favorite toy.
