A Surprise Gift

A few days before Christmas, my mother-in-law told me about a surprise gift she was giving Mike. Something he had wanted since he was 12! Something I have heard about very frequently for the last 9.5 years. So, when it was time for the surprise, I grabbed my camera and got ready. Mike thought I was taking pictures of Ainsley. I got the whole thing on video, but the lighting was too dark to post it. I did get this picture though!
He cried!! Bless his heart! He was so overwhelmed he didn't speak for several minutes. Now all we have to do is find someone to help him learn to play it! Isn't it a beauty? Mike and I laugh at the idea of him sitting on the front porch in his overalls, with a piece of straw between his teeth, pickin' his banjo! If I'll just learn to play my pedal steel and Max his acoustic and we'll teach Ainsley to play the fiddle.......
